❖ Version History ❖
September 12th-26th, 2025
With the fabric designs completed, I am still ready for more projects and set my course toward this year’s enamel pin designs. This is a task that I already had in mind for a long time, it was just a matter of putting it into action.
One thing that caught me off guard about this particular project is that I had anticipated simply using the six fabric patterns that appear in the gameplay… but it turns out that some of these are not created equally when it comes to introducing multiple colors into the designs. Some good examples of this would be the Kagome, Karakusa, & Shippo patterns, which look like this:

While these seem like perfectly normal designs, there are actually no barriers created by the linework, so it would require adding something to the pattern that was not originally there in order to make the pin design more colorful.
In the end, this felt like another great opportunity to honor some of the cooler patterns that were potentially going to be in the game but got omitted during the culling of the expansion set. As such, I went with three of the patterns in the game and three patterns no longer in the game. the result is the set of images I generated for the illustration at the top, also featured here:

Now, all we have to do is start up negotiations on the pricing and the quoting of the final color pallets with the manufacturer. What we end up with is a number a little bit higher than what I was initially hoping for, and I decided that we would drop the Ichimatsu design (far left pin).
It was a hard decision, but it is specifically because the pink pallet on the Tatewaku design (far right pin) has to go since there is no actual pink colors in the gameplay. So the plan became to move the color pallet from the Ichimatsu design over to the Tatewaku.
At the very end of the process, these are the final pin designs:

And one of the best things about ordering the pins is that they have one of the best turn around times on delivery out of any product we’ve ever ordered in bulk. In literally three weeks time, we had 1,000 of these little guys already upon our doorstep. Here’s a sneak peek of the final results!

In my opinion, these are definitely the nicest pins that we have created thus far. I am very happy with the results and the colors that we went with. They are five truly distinct designs & colors, which compliment each other nicely!
But. if you think that we were done with accessory design season, then you were totally wrong my friend! we still have a couple more stops to make here before we are done! Next up, we will in fact be talking about one of the silliest and craziest ideas that we have ever had for one of our games: a literal cheat-sheet in the format of a Yakuza secret document! Stay tuned for more amazing adventures from the Librarium Games Design Journal!
